Why France
Most journeys begin in Paris, and the best continue elsewhere: the châteaux of the Loire, the villages of Provence, the Riviera. We plan Paris properly — the right neighbourhood, timed museum entries, a private guide where it helps — then slow the pace down.

The placesworth the journey.
Eiffel Tower
Gustave Eiffel's wrought-iron tower, built for the 1889 World's Fair, still defines the Paris skyline. Lifts rise to a summit platform 276 metres above the Champ de Mars, and after dark the tower sparkles with thousands of bulbs for five minutes at the start of every hour.
Our tip Book timed summit tickets the day they are released, and view the evening sparkle from the Trocadéro gardens across the river.
The Louvre
Once a royal palace, the Louvre now holds around 35,000 works on display, from the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo to the Winged Victory of Samothrace. Its glass pyramid courtyard leads into galleries so extensive that a focused route matters more than ambition.
Our tip Enter through the Carrousel du Louvre rather than the pyramid, and book a private guide for the first slot of the morning.
Notre-Dame and Île de la Cité
Restored and reopened in December 2024 after the 2019 fire, Notre-Dame's pale stone interior and rose windows are brighter than they have been in centuries. Nearby on the same island, the Sainte-Chapelle encloses its visitors in fifteen walls of thirteenth-century stained glass.
Our tip Reserve a free timed entry slot for Notre-Dame online, and visit Sainte-Chapelle on a sunny morning when the glass glows most strongly.
Palace of Versailles
Louis XIV turned a hunting lodge into the most opulent court in Europe, and the Hall of Mirrors remains its dazzling centrepiece. Beyond the palace lie formal gardens, the Grand Canal and Marie Antoinette's estate, with its rustic hamlet and the Petit Trianon.
Our tip Avoid Mondays, when the palace is closed, and Tuesdays, when Paris museums shut and crowds shift here; a weekend Musical Fountains show is worth timing.
Montmartre and Sacré-Cœur
The white domes of Sacré-Cœur crown the highest hill in Paris, overlooking the city from the steps below. Behind the basilica, the cobbled lanes that drew Picasso, Renoir and Toulouse-Lautrec still hold a vineyard, an old windmill and the painters of Place du Tertre.
Our tip Come early in the morning, approach by the quiet Rue de l'Abreuvoir, and leave the busy Place du Tertre for last.
Nice and the Côte d'Azur
The Promenade des Anglais follows a sweep of blue water past belle époque façades, while the old town hides a flower market in Cours Saleya. Along the corniche roads, the perched village of Èze and the principality of Monaco sit within half an hour's drive.
Our tip Drive the Moyenne Corniche to Èze in the morning, before tour coaches arrive, and descend to Monaco for lunch.

Starting points,not packages.
Where to stay in France
Saint-Germain-des-Prés
Elegant Left Bank streets with bookshops, galleries and classic cafés, all within walking distance of the Louvre and Notre-Dame. Well suited to families and couples who enjoy exploring on foot.
The Golden Triangle, 8th arrondissement
Between the Champs-Élysées, Avenue Montaigne and the Seine, this is the address of the grand palace hotels and couture houses. The natural choice for corporate travellers, shoppers and VIP clients.
Le Marais
Seventeenth-century mansions, the Place des Vosges, independent boutiques and lively evenings. Honeymooners and younger travellers tend to love its intimate, characterful atmosphere.
What to eat in France
The boulangerie breakfast
A buttery croissant, pain au chocolat or warm baguette with jam from a neighbourhood bakery is one of the simplest pleasures of Paris. Vegetarians are well served, though pastries contain butter and eggs.
Galettes and crêpes
The Breton crêperies around Montparnasse serve savoury buckwheat galettes filled with cheese, mushroom or spinach, followed by sweet crêpes. Both are easy to order vegetarian, and fillings can be adapted without onion or garlic.
Ratatouille and Provençal cooking
Slow-cooked aubergine, courgette, peppers and tomato with olive oil and herbs, at its best on the Riviera in late summer. It is fully vegetarian and an honest option for vegan diners too.
Pâtisserie and macarons
Paris pâtissiers treat éclairs, tartes and macarons as fine craftsmanship, and a tasting walk is a delight for families. Some mousses and glazes use gelatine, so strict vegetarians should ask.
Travel tips for France
Getting there from India
Direct flights from Delhi to Paris take around nine hours. High-speed trains connect Paris to Provence and the Riviera.
For travellers from India
Nonstop flights from Delhi to Paris take around nine hours, and France requires a Schengen visa, ideally applied for six to eight weeks before travel in spring and summer. Indian and vegetarian restaurants are plentiful, but in French kitchens soups and sauces often use meat stock, so it helps to ask for dishes that are végétarien and confirm. Service is included in restaurant bills, and leaving a few euros for good service is appreciated rather than expected.
Visas & entry
Indian passport holders need a visa for France (Schengen). Rules and processing times change, so we confirm the current requirements when you book, prepare the document checklist with you, and help schedule any appointments.
Good to know
Book major museums and the Eiffel Tower in advance — we handle timed entries. Many restaurants close between lunch and dinner service.
